Cherry Polymers is part of a multi million pound investment in the plastics recycling industry by the Cherry Plastics Group and is now one of Irelands leading plastic recycling companies. The plastic bottle sorting facility is based near Crumlin, County Antrim and is Ireland's largest and most technologically advanced automated plastic bottle sorting plant which uses state of the art NIR (Near Infra Red) and Colour Sorting technology to sort plastic bottles by polymer type and colour. The plant has a sorting capacity of over 35,000 tonnes of post consumer plastic bottles per annum.

The goal of Cherry Polymers is to become Ireland's largest plastic recycler, with a complete Closed Loop Plastic Recycling and manufacturing facility. The aim of this facility is to take plastic from the waste streams and reprocess it into material suitable for use by plastic manufacturing companies, one of which is Cherry Drainage Pipes, a sister company of Cherry Polymers, who use the material in the manufacture of their wide range of plastic drainage systems. These products are supplied into the Agricultural, Civil Engineering, and Construction industries throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
