4000 tonne Supply Contract With Bryson Recycling
Cherry Polymers are pleased to announce the signing of a supply contract with Bryson Recycling for 4000 tonnes of mixed plastic bottles per annum from its sites in Mallusk and Banbridge.
The six figure contract will help protect local jobs and demonstrates the commitment that both companies have to developing a vibrant recycling sector in Northern Ireland. The bottles will be recycled into a range of drainage pipes for use in Agricultural, Civil Engineering and Construction Industries.
Launched in 1993, Bryson Recycling provides a recycling service for homes, businesses and schools in Northern Ireland. The social enterprise provides a kerbside box to over 200,000 households in the Armagh, Ballymena, Banbridge, Belfast, Carrickfergus, Castlereagh, Derry/Londonderry and Newtownabbey areas and also operates a MRF (Material Recovery Facility) which is used to sort materials collected mixed in wheeled bins in the arc21 region. They also provide a commercial recycling service for businesses and schools.
Eric Randall from Bryson recycling said: "The signing of this contract acknowledges the already existing relationship between Bryson Recycling and Cherry Polymers. We have worked together and co-operated for many years and through this contract, approximately 4000 tonnes of plastic bottles, around 100 million used bottles, will be recycled and used to make new products. This is good news for the Northern Ireland economy and generates significant benefits to the environment which must be welcomed".
Brian Boyce from Cherry Polymers stated: "We are delighted with the signing of this contract as we are two locally based companies working together to secure local jobs and promote household recycling".
